16 Days of Activism to end VAWG

We’re proud to support our local VAWG Forum led by Vox Feminarum and partners with a programme of community workshops, talks and a rally to end all forms of violence against women and girls worldwide.

The 16 Days campaign is global and runs from 25th November to 10th December.

The programme for Derby can be found online at:
or http://www.womensgrid.org.uk/16days/?p=864

We are facilitating two of the events – Brothers Beside Us on 3rd December at SV2 exploring inspiring actions men can take to end violence and Grooming of Girls in Derby together with Safe and Sound on 6th December to educate about the signs and effects of grooming and how to stop it, at the Mandela Centre.

Book a stall at International Women’s Day Festival Derby!

Be part of Derby’s biggest community event to celebrate women & girls!

You can book a stall at the IWD 2015 festival via this weblink: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/international-womens-day-festival-derby-2015-stall-bookings-registration-13729889469

The festival hosts a variety of stalls; stallholders at our last event reached over 700 visitors to the IWD festival. Stallholders say that they benefit from being part of the IWD festival by raising awareness, networking with other organisations, engaging the public, fundraising, recruiting staff or volunteers and being associated with a positive event, showing a commitment to gender equality.

As well as the stalls at the festival, there will be celebrations with stereotype-busting performers, workshops, exhibits, activity tasters, family fun and a creche, plus a festival magazine. There will be outdoor stalls and activities on the Market Place as well as some indoor workshops in Cathedral Quarter venues.

The event is free to enter for all the community, including male supporters, to help everyone in Derby & Derbyshire to celebrate and renew efforts towards gender equality.
