IWD Festival Derby 2014 – be part of it!

We’re busy with exciting plans for the annual festival to celebrate International Women’s Day in Derby (all organised by volunteers) and inviting local groups and organisations to get involved. This event helps to raise awareness of gender issues, celebrate role models and inspire volunteering with causes for women and girls. It is a free event but donations are appreciated.

The last event in March 2013 attracted over 650 visitors – girls, women and male supporters too. The next one is on Saturday 8th March 2014, 10am-4pm at the Assembly Rooms, Derby. The theme for 2014 is Generations.

Local groups can get involved in several ways:
1. Organise a group trip to bring people of all ages to benefit from this inspiring event.
2. Book a stall from just £22 to promote what you do, celebrate women & recruit volunteers via this weblink: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/international-womens-day-festival-derby-2014-stallholder-registration-registration-9654417623
3. Give a performance at the festival – anything from cultural arts to a sports skills demo or re-enacting a women’s protest from HERstory!
4. Fundraise for us to help make this festival the best it can be.

Please contact Vanessa on 0791 368 0088 or e-mail iwd@energise.biz for more info. You can also follow our news via social media – http://www.facebook.com/WomensDayDerby & Twitter @WomensDayDerby
